About Matthew Bowden Kehl
Matt was born October 13th 1986, the son of Steve and Kathy Kehl. He grew up in the Wausau area and graduated from D.C. Everest High School in 2005. As Matt grew older he developed a great interest for gaming and computer programming, which was reflected in his participation in the D.C. Everest Gaming Club. Education was extremely important to him. He was active in the UW-Stevens Point Upward Bound program, this program prepares high school student for college.
As a student at UW- Green Bay, he pursued a double major in computer science, and human development and graduated in 2009. He was involved in the gaming communities in Wausau and Green Bay. He was heavily involved with D.C. Everest's annual gaming convention, known as Evercon.
Most important to Matt were his friends and family. He held his relationship in high regard and took great pleasure in seeing those around him happy. Matthew always had a smile on his face and a cheerful hello. He had a way of touching the all the lives he encountered. He had a unique sense of humor, an engaging smile and willingness to help anyone at any time.
Matthew Bowden Kehl, died in a traffic accident on Sunday, October 16th 2011, at the age of 25. The D.C. Everest Gaming Club Scholarship Fund was founded in his memory.
